Scrimba JavaScript 2024 challenge "Advent Calendar"
The challenge here was to create an interactive advent calender that displays randomized treats hidden from view in each cell of the calendar. As the user clicks the cells, the treats are revealed.
These Scrimba challenges push you towards stretch goals, and for this challenge I added: mouse over animations to the cells, a door opening animation on reveal, and one cell with a special treat.
Additional stretch goals: the state of your calendar is saved between visits, and I've provided the ability to completely reset the calendar with new randomized treats.

A new coding challenge daily until Christmas Day!
Scrimba JavaScript 2024 challenge "Snow Globe"
In this challenge, we were provided the snow globe scene and asked to add an animation to simulate falling showflakes in the snow globe.
For stretch goals, I added: a button to start and stop the animation, an initial shaking animation sequence, randomized flipping and rotation animations on the snowflakes, and a special "Santa" particle that appears randomly in the flurry!
Scrimba JavaScript 2024 challenge "Holiday Match Game"
For this challenge, we had to build a fully working card matching game. Games are my jam, so this one felt somewhat rudimentary, and implementing the basic game was straightforward and done quickly.
For stretch goals, I added: a card flipping reveal animation, a flourish animation on the entire game board when complete, and the ability to replay the game in four different configurations.

Scrimba JavaScript 2024 challenge "Snowman Word Guess"
The challenge here was a twist on the classic "hangman" word guessing game. In this version, the player was to guess the word "STAR" before losing all of the snowman's body parts. Once again, the game mechanics came together quickly, and I was able to spend more time on enhancements.
For stretch goals, I added: a fade-out animation as the snowman's parts are lost, special animations to various snowman parts and game end and game start, the ability to replay the game, my own list of about 35 holiday words, and the ability to play using input from the keyboard.

Scrimba JavaScript 2024 challenge "Guess The Holiday Movie"
In this challenge we were provided the complete UI and a chunk of quiz data. The challenge was to create a "guess the movie" quiz-style app that presented a list of emoji representing a holiday movie, accepted the player's guess, then checked if the guess was correct.
As a stretch goal, I added code that checked the player's guess against the correct movie title using REGEX. It's not perfect, but it does a pretty good job when a guess is somewhat close to the actual movie title. Try it for yourself!
